JOB SUMMARY
The Graphic Designer/Illustrator collaborates with the Owners to ensure the timely and quality production of information graphics, clothing graphics, and custom illustrations. Ideal candidates will be able to maintain high design standards, provide excellent customer service, complete graphic research, work on daily deadlines, and has solid typography skills. The successful applicant will also be trained on various machines at the shop including but not limited to, Commercial Direct to Film ( DTF ) Printer, 54” large format printer, UV flatbed printer & Laser engraver. This is an in-house position, no remote / telecommuting applicants will be contacted. You must be willing to relocate if you are not in the Melfort Saskatchewan area. Unfortunately we will not be sponsoring any out of country applicants at this time.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Create original t-shirt graphics using Adobe Illustrator
- Design and produce various types of digital and print materials
- Develop concepts and create mock-ups for projects
- Researching and organizing content for graphics
- Ordering and searching for stock images
- Transitioning easily between multiple topics and aesthetics
- Incorporating feedback and updates to completed graphics
- Ensuring timely delivery of graphics per assigned delivery date
- Strong written and oral communication (fluent English) skills
- Print graphics on DTF printer.
- Pick and Press Graphics onto clothing and arrange shipping.
- Assist in other tasks around the business.
- Manage and organize design files and assets
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Experience in creating graphics and illustrations for apparel
- Well-organized and able to work consistently on recurring projects
- Proficiency using the Adobe Creative Suite, with an emphasis on Illustrator and Photoshop
- Strong conceptual thinker
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a portfolio of previous design work available for review
- Prior work experience as an Illustrator, graphic designer, or similar.
- Work well on your own with little supervision
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members
- Drawing, painting and digital drawing skills
- Knowledge of image editing and design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong conceptual and artistic skills
- Strong layout and color application
- Follow proper design process
- Design and create graphics and layouts for branding, marketing, websites, digital displays, advertising, menus, brochures, banners, etc.
- Must work in a PC environment on site at JBN, this is not a remote position.
- Must be able to stand for extended time with an eye for detail
This is a Full Time 9-5 M-F position located in Melfort Saskatchewan .. Hour off for lunch
